Quartz Crystal gem stone

One of the most common minerals on Earth, quartz comes in a wide variety of colors and forms. The purest of these is colorless and is known as rock crystal or natural quartz crystal. It is formed with no foreign substances in it. Phantom quartzes are formed through further deposits on the surfaces, when the crystal has long periods of being dormant in its growth (for millions of years).

Quartz crystal was first found in the frozen mountains of the Alps. Ancients believed that it was formed from ice crystals that would never melt.
