Trigonal

Ametrine is an unusual crystal quartz that is part amethyst and part citrine. This creates a bi-colored effect, called color zoning, and makes ametrine an excellent collectible. The combination makes each crystal uniquely colored. It makes an excellent jewelry stone that is often cut in a rectangular shape in order to display the dual colors.

Sources of Ametrine

Ametrine is among an elite group of gemstones that comes from only one source - the Anahi Mine located in the jungles of Bolivia.

Ametrine is a relatively new stone and so has no ancient traditions connected with it.
