Amazonite properties

Amazonite is a semi-opaque blue-green variety of microcline. Named for the Amazon River, it is a popular stone for use in jewelry. It can be cut up to almost any size.

Amazonite is sometimes confused with jade or turquoise because of its striking color, which occurs due to the presence of lead.

Amazonite can be found in the US, Russia, Canada, Brazil, India, Mozambique, Namibia and Austria.

Amazonite Folklore Meaning

Amazonite is believed to provide protection from harmful electromagnetic pollution. Healers use it to soothe the nervous system. It is believed to be a calming stone, and also beneficial to the manifestation of universal love.
